Spring Triangle

spring triangle 1

Heralding in the season of spring is this astronomical asterism: the Spring Triangle.

Above you’ll find the points of the triangle. Here’s what to look for: Arcturus in part of the kite-shaped constellation Bootes, Denebola in the tail of the constellation Leo, and Spica is in the constellation Virgo.

Connecting these three stars forms an imaginary triangle in the night sky from March through May and is most prominent in mid-April.

Nights haven’t been too clear lately, but I’ll look for this asterism as whenever I can this spring.
